The real steel Glock is the name of a family of semi-automatic pistols designed and produced by the Austrian company Glock, founded in 1963. The guns are manufactured with high-strength synthetic and steel components. They are very popular amongst firearms owners. Many Airsoft Pistol manufacturers have created airsoft guns modeled after the Glock series of pistols. One such Airsoft electric Pistol is the CYMA CM030. CYMA is a Chinese airsoft manufacturer most famous for it's AK Variant the CM028. The CMO30 is a great airsoft electric pistol priced under $60. We will cover it in this airsoft review.
Gun Externals
As with all CYMA Airsoft guns the box is stylish and military looking, with the typical airsoft styrofoam tray holding the components. In the box you get the Pistol, 7.2v 500mAh NiMh battery, cradle-type wall charger, syringe-type speed loader, starter BBs, clearing rod and the manual. The manual comes with a disassembly view of the pistol, which can be helpful if you ever need to open it up. This is one thing we wish more airsoft manufacturers would do. The gun itself is made out of solid ABS plastic. The magazine, upper receiver release button and selector switch are metal. Once you have the battery in, the unloaded airsoft gun weighs in at a very balanced 1 pound 6 ounces. For an airsoft pistol this gun feels awesome in your hand. The CYMA CM030 sports some pretty accurate styling, but seeing CYMA has not attained licensing or trademarks so it just has the "CYMA" and "Made in China" stamps on the body. The body is tight and there are no detectable seams on it. The sight posts are painted bright white for better use in dim lighting. CYMA has done a great job with the look and feel of the CM030 airsoft pistol.
Gun Internals
The CYMA CM030 Airsoft Electric Pistol is equipped with a Version 2 metal gearbox and adjustable hop-up. Hop-up adjustment is accomplished by removing the upper receiver and moving the hop-up wheel. The inner barrel is brass and the battery fits very snug in a slot below the barrel. The Metal Magazine holds 30-rounds. The only problem we ran into was the CM030 had some random feed problems during our tests. However, after lubing it with Silicone spray the problem was solved, permanently. With the 500mAh battery you'll be able to fire about 1300 rounds before needing a recharge. Not bad seeing you get half that out of the TM orginal. The gun offers both safety, semi-auto and full-auto firing modes. The gearbox and motor give you a full-auto rate of fire of around 12 Rounds per second which is blazing fast for a 30-round magazine. Best bet is to use this gun on semi-auto to conserve ammo.
Performance
We tested .12g, .20g, and .23g BBs in this gun at 35 feet (it's a pistol). Past 25 feet the .12g BBs went everywhere, which is typical for .12g BBs. We chrono'd muzzle velocities of 240-252 Feet per second with the .12g BBs. But the poor accuracy doesn't make .12g BBs good for long range; 20 feet at best. With the heavier BBs it was a different story. With .20g BBs, accuracy improved quite a bit, with decent 6-8 inch grouping at 35 feet. Muzzle velocity on the .20g airsoft BBs was chrono'd at 208-214 FPS. With .23g BBs accuracy improved a bit more, bringing our grouping under 5-inches at 35 feet. Not bad for a pistol! Muzzle velocity on the .23g BBs was chrono'd at 195 - 202 fps. You don't get as much firepower as a gas pistol, but for an electric pistol priced under $60 you cannot go wrong with the CYMA CM030. When used as a CQB weapon you'll have no problem hitting your target with the CYMA CM030.
Since this is a Marui clone, it will accept most Marui G18c upgrades, accessories, or mags. Therefore, parts are readily available for the CYMA CM030. CYMA also makes a high capacity magazine for this gun, but they are a bit hard to come by, but you'll have no problem finding the TM version. Because the standard magazine holds 30-rounds, extra magazines are recommended. Especially if you are using it on full-auto. Overall, we give the CYMA CM030 a thumbs up! We will miss this AEP, seeing it is no longer available in the USA due to trademark issues.

I have this same model and it so fun to shoot. Make sure you have safety goggles before the shooting begins. You will get hours of airsoft fun with this bad boy.
P.S.-DONT SHOOT YOUR EYE OUT!
i bought the gun because of this review, i haven't tested it though.. thanks for the review! i got you to blame if it isn't worth it.. lol!

Great rewiev! I'm going to buy this gun and this rewiev definetly helped me to decide to buy this gun. I'm going to use it as a backup outside and main weapon inside.
Continue great work with rewievs Oifveteran!
I got this gun for my b-day and let me tell you this, it is one of my best guns and I use it for my secondary. Trust me it worth the price.
Very nice review. I was actually trying to find Airsoft Rifle reviews and this caught my eye.
This one looks a lot better than the one I had. I bought mine at some outlet store, and the clip broke a month later. It still shoots, but you have to load it directly into the barrel, and only one round ata time.
i have this gun and i have the battery in and sometimes i have problems with it not shooting. does anyone know anything about this??
I currently own this gun and am recently having problems with it. like ben here said, it just stopped shooting. batt is still good (tested it with a batt tester). but it just froze. most likely the internals are stuck somewhere......problem is, this gun was built very well and they made it difficult to take apart. when it worked, it was great. the biggest downside was THEY DO NOT MAKE A SMART CHARGER!! its very sad.....but all in all its great (aside from its recent tragedy)
i think you can shoot birds and squrrels. maybe bugs tooo
I have a problem with this , it doesn't shoot and the gearbox make a sound like a drill and then it smells burnt. Can anyone help me with this... Ty, in advance
is there anywhere where u can still get this gun
so far i'm satisfied using it. it pretty pass the expectations i have of airsoft electric guns especially when its battery is fully charged. i am more interested where i can purchase extra magazines and if its possible to load it with metal bbs.
There is the Charger and then the little dock that you plug that wall charger into, everything works fine, i think, but the wall charger won't fully plug into the little battery dock. Is it supposed to do that?
Just so you know, its not a V2 gearbox. Its a copy of the Tokyo Marui AEP gearbox, which fits in the pistol grip.

Looks like a pretty cool gun. Would it be good for shooting the squirrels off my bird feeder?
